The Breadcrumbs Curriculum PDF Package

Breadcrumbs is a unique, heart-centered social-emotional curriculum designed for children ages 4-7. Inspired by the pioneering work of Maria Montessori, who believed young children are guided by 'the intelligence of love,' Breadcrumbs nurtures their innate goodness. Montessori recognized that children (when allowed to develop freely) feel deeply connected to the world and naturally care for others. Modern research continues to affirm her insights.

At the core of Breadcrumbs is the belief that this inherent goodness stems from qualities of the human heart: gratitude, empathy, compassion, cooperation, patience, kindness, and peace. By helping children recognize, celebrate, and cultivate these qualities, parents and educators can support them in building a strong social-emotional foundation.

The curriculum consists of five units, with 20 weekly lessons designed for a full school year. Each week, children explore carefully curated stories that bring key social-emotional concepts to life. Engaging discussions, songs, and activities reinforce these ideas, while children deepen their understanding by walking the Breadcrumbs labyrinth, reflecting on a 'take-it-to-heart' question, and capturing their thoughts in Breadcrumbs Journals.
